So many strong, lingering vibrations. Revelations continue to flow from even a two bar line.

Until we meet again my best wishes.

I met Pat online in 2008 while searching to feature and interview jazz musicians and poets for my program Spotlight On Jazz & Poetry. Needless to say after we had the chance to talk and I explained the concept of my show we immediately clicked and he was the featured artist on the premier of my program. We became friends after that. He met my wife and children and we met his wife. He was just a beautiful person and spirit. Oh, and he was a beast on the guitar. Rest In Paradise my friend. We'll meet again

So sorry to have just now heard about Pat's passing. His music was a huge part of the sound track of my life and a great inspiration. Desperado was probably my favorite, although I loved East as well as his collaboration with Eric Kloss. A great loss to the music world!

Nov 1st 2021. RIP Maestro.
Had the pleasure and good fortune to have known and learned much from Pat personally since the 1970's. Pre and post surgery.

My wife and I took a road trip from Northern NJ to Philly on October 31. Remembering that Pat was suffering, his image popped into my head and remained there all day. I mentioned to my wife that he lived in Philly and we chatted about my love for Pat's music and outlook on life given his condition. I then heard the news on Monday. Perhaps he remained in my head and heart for a reason that day. I love you Pat and will miss you. Be well and I will see you playing on the other side one day. -DHO

I met Pat between sets at a show that he was doing at the Iridium around 2002 or so. I was standing near the stage and wondering out loud to a friend about his rig. Pat must have overheard the conversation and was kind enough to take the time, come over to us and explain everything in detail about his setup. What else can I say? His music has been a huge influence on my playing (I'm not alone there)and his kindness will never be forgotten. God Bless Pat Martino. He made the world a better place. R.I.P.

Patrick was a classmate of mine at Annunciation Elementary School in South Philadelphia in the 1950's. He was adorable and very nice to me always. My son and my grandson are great fans of his wonderful work and admire the character he showed during his recovery from such a tragic medical issue.

Rest in Peace, Patrick. ❤️

Pat was one of my teachers in GIT Hollywood in 1980. Already a legend, he couldn't have been nicer. We all loved him. His wisdom and insight penetrated to my soul, where there's now a hole since he's gone. Everyone on this site, and millions more around the world know he was a GREAT Jazz Guitar Player, perhaps the greatest ever. And yet, he was a GREATER person.

Pat, you have been and will continue to be an inexhaustible source of inspiration, as an artist, as a thinker and above all as a unique human being. Thank you, formidable man
