My wife Jeannine and I are deeply saddened by Pat's passing. As I said in John Ernesto's post about Pat, "we had the privilege of hearing and meeting Pat many times. What an extraordinary guitar player and spiritual, humble man. Pat will be miss ed more than he realizes. After my brain surgery (it was an abscess) I used Pat's inspiration to help recover and play guitar again.I distinctly remember him saying (after I asked him whether he was teaching) "If God 's plan allows it, our paths will cross again!" In a strange way he was prophetic! He truly is my guitar hero! God Bless you!

Saddened to hear of Pats passing. From the time I heard him play Sunny back in the seventies I was hooked. Many more records since then. Can never get enough. May the heavens make room for Pat. Peace. :!music: :!brokenheart:

Thank you Pat. You were so much more than just an extraordinary musician - a true mentor, a deep thinker and a generous giver.

I am so saddened by the passing of the Greatest guitarist to ever exist on this planet. Pat was larger than life itself and a great mentor to me as an aspiring jazz guitarist. I learned so much from Pat in the course of 14 lessons and attending at least 40 concerts over a period of 16 years after meeting him for the first time at the Jazz Bistro in StLouis in 2005.

All my condolences to all his family and friends, wonderful manager Joe Donofrio and his wonderful wife Aya.

Many blessings and prayers 🙏🙏🙏.

Today 2nd of november was my birthday, and I learn the so sad news. I had the chance to meet Pat and made an interview for my broadcast. I am fan of him since… well the very beginning of his career. He was not only a guitar genius, but a so graet human being. What a sadness for me, and for jazz planet. My deepest condolences to his wife and all his loved ones. YvesFrom Paris France

Sleep well Pat... he was my teacher back in the 70s and a longtime friend. I was still in high school when I bought his 1972 album "The Visit" at 3rd St Jazz in Philly and it changed my life as a guitarist. So sad to hear he passed today, but we have his music and his approach to not only the guitar, but life and what it means to be a true artist. Condolences and prayers to Aya. Jack and Diana

Kate and I are sorry to learn of Pat's passing.
I had a great time playing and hanging with him when he appeared with us at our jazz series at Artis Naples in February of 2015. He was a great player and a wonderful cat. RIP.
