Comments: Pat - I wish you the best. You’ve been a great influence on my playing all these years. I met you in 1969 or 1970. I was on the road with a group and in Philadelphia. I called you from the airport and you invited me into your home and gave me a guitar lesson. It was one of my best experiences ever. You’re the best

Comments: As an aspiring hobbyist jazz drummer (and a tinkering guitarist) I cannot tell you how much I cherish the well-spring of creativity that you have blessed planet earth with.
The first recording I ever heard was Exit. (Played to my by my drum teacher) Yes… it was one of THOSE recordings. It absolutely changed my world. And boy did I feel lucky. I mean this was back in the 80's. It was all word of mouth… and man… it was like uncovering a secret treasure. And I still do feel that way.
I currently reside in West Harlem. And you can laugh or call me crazy, but I sometimes wonder if my foot has stepped in the same spot that maybe yours or any other jazz musician who once lived in the area did.
Yes. There are many of us thinking about you during this trying time. But you are strong. And I look forward to hearing more from you upon your recovery. All the best.

Comments: Mr. Martino: I cannot accurately express how much it means to me knowing such a soul as you exists in this world. Even putting aside your prodigious musical teaching and performance skills, your humility, grace, and even presence inspire us all, even those who dont "know you." Thanks, you beautiful soul, and know you are loved. May you continue your healing. - Eric Columber, Maine, USA

Every since my teen years when I stumbled on to jazz, your music has been among my favorites. I play your music often. I pray for your health as I do for the health of the world right now in these challenging times.
